HuntBar is an browser hijacker software for Internet Explorer providing searching features as well as changes your home and search page settings to point to the HuntBar servers and interferes with other search engines.
HuntBar is a toolbar providing searching features, which is added to every new Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer window.
HuntBar is ditributed by IBIS Inc., the makers on a number of spyware threats. HuntBar is actually one of the original variants of the WebSearch Toolbar distributed by IBIS Inc. The way Huntbar gets distributed as well as other IBIS Inc. Toolbars is through a large network of IBIS affiliates that get paid a couple cents per install.
IBIS offers its affiliates a custom branded version of Huntbar/WebSearch Toolbar as well.

HuntBar also changes your home page and search bar settings to point to HuntBar's servers, and automatically opens this search bar when it detects you using any other search engine.

ALTHOUGH HUNTBAR DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO ANALYZE WEB USAGE DATA TO DETERMINE THE IDENTITY OF ANY HUNTBAR USER, SOME INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE TOOLBAR SERVICE IS PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE. HUNTBAR AGGREGATES AND ANALYZES THE INFORMATION IT COLLECTS TO IMPROVE ITS SERVICE AND TO PREPARE REPORTS ABOUT AGGREGATE WEB USAGE AND SHOPPING HABITS."
