Matthew Family
These are dangerous memory resident parasitic viruses. They hook INT 8, 13h, 21h and writes itself to the beginning of COM and to the end of EXE files that are executed. The viruses manifest themselves by video effects, they also overwrites the boot sector of floppy disks with a program that displays while booting from such disk:
