Description: This self-executing worm spread by exploiting a Microsoft Windows vulnerability. It is a very fast replicating worm, and achieved very high infection rates.
This Sasser variant uses a filename that tries to look legitimate to avoid detection.
Unlike other worms this virus does not spread via email. The worm works by instructing vulnerable systems to download and execute the viral code.
Infected computers should be patched immediately to avoid future infection by this or any number of viruses that also use this exploit.
