Brain Family
This family includes two similar and not dangerous viruses: "Brain.Ashar" and "Brain.Singapore". They infect the boot-sectors of floppy-disks during access to them (INT 13h, ah=02). Location on a disk is in a free clusters, which the viruses mark as BAD (pseudo-bad clusters). An infected disk is given a new volume label "(C) Brain". The viruses use stealth mechanism - when you look at the Boot-sector of the infected disk, they display the unchanged boot-sector. |
