This is a dangerous memory resident parasitic virus. It hooks INT 17h, 21h and writes itself to the end of COM and EXE files except COMMAND.COM. It writes instructions MOV BX,Loc_Virus; JMP BX to COM file beginning. While accessing to printer (INT 17h) the virus erases 7th bit of information being transferred (sets information to ASCII-7 format). As a result the printer stops to print the extended codes. |
