These are dangerous nonmemory resident parasitic viruses. They search for .COM files, then write themselves to the end of the file. Sometimes they display the picture:

and halt the computer. The viruses also contain the text string:
CHAD Against Damaging Viruses ... Save Our Software. 1992.
